Family Research Council’s Peter Sprigg wrote a very compelling article for the Washington Times on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), a bill that will most likely come up for a vote soon in Congress.

Prosecuting my business for not hiring a man dressed like a woman, prosecuting my business for not hiring a woman who had a sex change into a man and then decided she wanted to be impregnated and bear a child (essentially a bearded pregnant woman–this actually happened), prosecuting my business because I fired a worker for acting inappropriately toward the children connected with my business BEFORE they were molested by this individual…would be TOTALLY and ABSOLUTELY insane. Yet this would be ENDA’s goal and obligation…prosecution for all of the above. Stop listening to the wrong voices and start listening to the common sense with which even a child was born. There is a way that things operate efficiently for the sake of continuing a society, and there is a way that will destroy it. You are choosing destruction. Please stop!!!
We are NOT in favor of the Employment Nondiscrimination Act, ENDA. We do not discriminate now in our manufacturing business. We need to be able to conduct business in a sensible way. Such laws just don’t make sense in conducting business.
I’m appauled at the legislators who are not aware OR simply choose to ignore information available on homosexuals. Such as, there is absolutely no scientific evidence that one is born that way—-it is due to their environment. They should be promoting the HELP that is available to them instead of PROMOTING the lifestyle.
Janet,
Please direct me to the research (that is scientifically reviewed and published) that indicates where homosexuality is caused solely by environmental factors. As far as I know, and I’ve research it thoroughly, no one has any definitive evidence that the sexual orientation of ALL people is environmental. Besides that, “PROMOTING” the lifestyle and “TOLERATING” the lifestyle of other people (consenting adults) are two very different things. Others have to tolerate right-wing religious nuts when they spew nonsense based on their beliefs and try to infuse their beliefs onto things like holiday displays, or the ten commandments in the courtrooms, or days of national prayer, for instance. Not everyone believes the same things, and we can still live in harmony, and that’s what’s great about this country. Too bad you can’t appreciate that.
